CIPM’s Great HR Quiz 2022 Concludes on a High Note
CIPM Sri Lanka – the Nation’s leader in human resource management, held the Great HR Quiz 2022, Sri Lanka’s only HR quiz dedicated to corporates, for the 6th time on Friday 25th February at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo in the presence of President CIPM Sri Lanka-Jayantha Amarasinghe, Vice President Ken Vijayakumar, Priyantha Ranasinghe-Council Member and Project Chairman-The Great HR Quiz 2022, Past Presidents, Council Members of CIPM, members, faculty, staff of CIPM. Chairman, University Grants Commission – Senior Professor Sampath Amarathunga graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Forty-eight teams and 192 individuals representing blue-chip companies of the corporate sector in Sri Lanka vied for the top spots in this highly popular event. Addressing the participants, Professor Amarasigha said that graduates of universities also should follow a professional qualification and be members of the relevant professional organizations so that they can be in continuous professional development.
“We are encouraged by the high number of participants in our annual event, which is being held for the 6th time since its inception. The APFHRM has endorsed the Great HR Quiz as an important event that helps enhance HR knowledge amongst the participants and the fraternity, and the ability to think on their feet,” said Jayantha Amarasinghe-President CIPM Sri Lanka.
The quiz was held as a 5-round live table quiz with a unique digital response captured electronically and tested the participants’ knowledge on human resource management, contemporary human resource management, current affairs, and sports. Quiz Master – Professor Ajantha Dharmasiri – Past President of CIPM/Chartered Fellow, ensured that the quiz was attractive to the participants and the audience. The panel of judges officiating at the event comprised an eminent team of HR professionals and business leaders and included Janaka Kumarasinghe-Past President, CIPM (Chairman), Dhammika Fernando-Past President CIPM and Director APFHRM, and representing the Employer’s Federation of Ceylon – Vajira Ellepola, Deputy Director-General.
The team representing Ansell Lanka (Pvt) Ltd was adjudged the Grand Winner of the Great HR Quiz 2022 and was awarded the Champions Trophy, medals for each team member, and a cash award of Rs. 100,000. The 1st Runner Up was the 2nd team representing Sunshine Holdings, awarded the Runners Up Trophy and a cash award of Rs. 75,000. Seylan Bank PLC’s team emerged as the 2nd Runner Up and was awarded the 2nd Runners Up Trophy and a cash award of Rs. 50,000.
In addition to the overall winners, sectoral winners in the banking sector, finance, Insurance & investment sector, IT, Software, Telecommunication and BPO sector, food & beverage sector, manufacturing & FMCG sector, apparel & textile sector, travel, hospitality & leisure sector, and a special category too were awarded sectoral winner’s trophies.
A cocktail and networking evening followed the awards ceremony.
