Zahran’s widow sent to COVID-19 Treatment Centre at Welikanda

Abdul Cadre Fatima Hadiya, the widow of National Thowheed Jamaat (NTJ) leader Zahran Hashim has been infected with the COVID- 19 virus.

Hadiya was in the custody of the CID on a detention order for more than 18 months, and was remanded after being produced in court on 22 October.

It was revealed that more than 20 inmates of the Welikada Prison had COVID- 19, and Hadiya was among them.

Hadiya, on November 07, was taken to the COVID- 19 Treatment Centre at Welikanda, Polonnaruwa under tight Police security.

Hadiya testified before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday bombings on two occasions and none of them were open to the media.
