Yuthukama by Colombo Knights Leo held in Hunuwala North

Colombo Knights Leo club of Leo district 306 C2 successfully conducted the “Yuthukama” multifaceted social care programme on April 23 and 24 at the Hunuwala North Vidyalaya in Ratnapura.The much-needed lavatory system of the school was completely repaired and handed over to the students while shoes also were distributed to all the children.

A mental health workshop conducted by Dhanusha Tharangani and a workshop on non-communicable diseases conducted by Public Health Inspector E.S.S.K. Jayasena was held for the villagers and schoolchildren.Colombo Knights Leo Club also managed to successfully organize a programme to distribute spectacles to 100 villagers in North Hunuwala.

Along with this, a programme of planting 150 plants was implemented in Ibulthanna area with the cooperation of Weligepola Pradeshiya Sabha and the Balangoda Forest Conservation Department.

Ariyaratne, Deputy Principal U.L. Menike, teacher R.A. Dharmasena and many other teachers and the villagers participated in these programmes.
