Young Sandaru takes all ten wickets for two runs

Young Sandaru Malshan of Devapathiraja College, Ratgama achieved the rare honour of taking all ten wickets in an innings as he led his team to an innings and 103 runs victory over P de S Kularatne College, Ambalangoda in an Under 13 Division I tournament match on Wednesday.In the match played at Rajapaksha College ground, Ahungalla, the off spinner gave away just two runs in the second innings in his fiery spell of 12.5 overs which included twelve maidnes.

P de S Kularatne could muster only 19 and 11 runs respectively in the two innings.Malshan, who has contributed handsomely to the success of the team, has taken 33 wickets so far in the tournament. The budding team have also remained unbeaten after five matches. So far they have registered one outright victory (against P de S Kularatne College, Ambalangoda) and three first innings wins (against Richmond, Sri Devananda and Gamini Central, Bentota), while their other match ended in a no decision (Kalutara Vidyalaya). The strong bowling unit also had the honour of containing other opponents to low scores. While Richmond could muster only 54 runs against them, Sri Devananda and Gamini Central Bentota scored 69 and 84 runs respectively. Kalutara Vidyalaya were bowled out for 76 runs.
