Yapa appointed Chairman of Committee on Public Finance

SLPP MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa has been appointed the Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance of Parliament.

Parliament Media Division said that the committee had met yesterday at the Parliament complex. Anura Priyadarshana Yapa’s name was proposed by Minister Bandula Gunawardane and seconded by Parliamentarian Dilan Perera.

A preliminary discussion was held on the future activities of the Committee on Public Finance pertaining to the first session of the Ninth Parliament.

Ministers Keheliya Rambukwella, Susil Premajayantha, D.V. Chanaka, Vidura Wickramanayaka, (Dr.) Nalaka Godahewa and MPs Harsha de Silva, Hesha Withanage, Isuru Dodangoda, Anupa Pasqual, Sahan Pradeep Withana, (Prof.) Ranjith Bandara were present at the meeting.

The committee is scheduled to meet again on Nov 12 and the Appropriation Bill 2020 will be taken up for discussion.
