Yala notches record revenue as tourist arrivals increase

A record number of people visited the Yala National Park between December 23, 2022 and January 2, 2023.

Wildlife Conservation Department Director General Chandana Suriyabandara, who met Agriculture, Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, yesterday, said that that the Wildlife Department revenue had increased during that period.

The Yala National Park recorded the highest income so far in single day on January 02nd. It was Rs. 11. Million.

The Director General also informed the Minister that since a large number of foreign tourists had arrived in the southern province of Sri Lanka, and most of them had visited the Yala Park.
