Woman arrested for killing young elephant

A 46-year-old woman was arrested by Oddusuddan Police on Wednesday (16) for using a live electric cable to kill an elephant, which had damaged her paddy field.

The eight-year-old elephant was found dead on the suspect’s paddy field.

Acting on a complaint made by the Wildlife Department, the police arrested the suspect.
