Old Thomian Sohan and Old Trinitian Clifford

The Old Boys of St. Peters’s College, Bambalapitiya (Colombo 4), based in London, are certainly marching along, with pride – celebrating their old school’s 100 anniversary…this year.

The celebrations began in January, and with a lot more activities planned for the next few months.

Most of the major activities are taking place, in England, according to information coming my way.

The event of the year, according to the OBU, London, will be the Black-tie Dinner Dance, ‘La Bamba Nite,’ to be held on September 17th, at the Hilton T5 London.

At this Black-tie event, two guys, who are not old Peterites, will be in the spotlight, as entertainers, and they are certainly going to be the cynosure of all eyes, as they are excellent entertainers – old Thomian Sohan Weerasinge, and old Trinitian Clifford Richard.

Both Sohan and Clifford are working out their programme for September 17th, and, I’m told, they plan to make ‘La Bamba Nite’ a memorable event.

The OBU has planned various other events, to mark this momentous occasion.

Some of the other Centenary events, organised by the OBU London, will include…

* Peterites on Thames – June 11th

* Joe-Pete Big Match – June 26th

* Saints Quadrangular Cricket tournament – July 31st

* Christmas Carols – December
