Wellawatta Nithyakalyani Jewellery teamed up with East Rotary Colombo to take its corporate social responsibility to another level by donating a public drinking water system (Pinthaliya) that supplies clean drinking water to Colombo South Teaching Hospital (Kalubowila Hospital). This is the twelfth successful drinking water project implemented by Wellawatte Nithyakalyani Jewellery. The event was attended by A. P. Jayarajah, the Chief Executive Officer of Nithyakalyani Jewellery, staff members of Nithyakalyani Jewellery and officials of Colombo South Teaching Hospital.

Wellawatte Nithyakalyani Jewellery started its mission to supply free clean drinking water by setting up its first “Pinthaliya” in front of its showroom located on Galle Road in Wellawatta. The social welfare project that started with the establishment of such a system to quench the thirst of people traveling on Galle Road has now expanded to quenching the thirst of thousands of patients who visit Kalubowila Hospital. “As a business entity, Wellawatta Nithyakalyani Jewellery goes beyond business objectives and constantly contributes to social welfare programs. We also get the constant support of East Rotary Colombo for many of these activities. We conduct many social service programs such as the Wellawatta beach cleanup, blood donation camps, helping schools and religious places annually. Our aim is to expand these programs further in the future”, said A. P. Jayarajah.
