We love egg hoppers and smiling faces of Sri Lankans

Grade Six students from Pakistan

A group of Pakistani Grade six students presently studying in Academic Civitas, a private school in Karachi. visited Sri Lanka recently. They were on a goodwill visit, and they were enticed by the natural beauty of Sri Lanka, the fauna and flora, “We love Sri Lanka and we want to come back to Sri Lanka with our parents’’ were the sentiments expressed by most of them. They also said they loved Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and the smiling faces of the people.

Most of them expressed that climbing the Sigiriya Rock was an experience. they all said Rock Sigiriya is a place of extraordinary beauty and filled with rich history, they were also enticed by the natural landscape of the hills. Egg hoppers was the number one choice when they were talking of Sri Lankan cuisine. Cricket was their favourite topic in their discussion, and surprisingly they were well versed with all the names of Sri Lankan cricketers.

Ms. Almas Riaz, Principal, led the students, accompanied by other members of the school. Students were welcomed by the Acting High Commissioner, Wajid Hassan Hashmi, the press attache and other members of the Embassy.The Acting High Commissioner briefed the students on the friendly relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
