Wasantha Mudalige arrested

Convenor of the Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF), Wasantha Mudalige was arrested yesterday by the police who alleged that he had forcibly entered the Ministry of Education premises in Pelawatte, Battaramulla.

Several student Buddhist monks of the Buddhist and Pali University too were arrested.Mudalige and others were asking the authorities reopen the Pali and Buddhist University.

They were also protesting against the police for using excessive force to disperse students at Pitipana Junction in Homagama on 22 February.
