Walala clinch girls’ title for the 22nd time, Lyceum excel in boys’ category

Ratnayake Central Walala won the overall girls’ title of the Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletics Championships for the 22nd time at the Sugathadasa Stadium on Saturday, while Lyceum International Wattala clinched the boys’ overall title. The latter were also the runners up in the girls’ category.Both teams beat their closest rivals comfortably. While the girls from Walala aggregated 190 points (Lyceum 150) for the title, Lyceum accumulated 136 points to beat St. Benedict’s (82 points) to the second place in the boys’ championships.
