Waduge’s 98 cannot stop Colombo North from recording third win

Colombo North registered their third consecutive victory to reach the final group match unbeaten as they beat Kandy by three wickets in the clash of the leading teams in the Sri Lanka Cricket conducted Inter Provincial Under 17 tournament at Welagedara Stadium on Friday.

Batting first Kandy were helped by Supun Waduge who anchored the batting line up with a valuable 98 runs (in 136 balls, 12x4s, 2x6s) but their eventual total of 193 runs was not enough to challenge Colombo North.Colombo North reached the win need with six overs to spare as Kavindu Amameth top scored with 61 runs.

In the other match played yesterday Colombo South recorded a four wickets win over Dambulla as  Rusanda Gamage, Gaviru Senhas and Uneth Peiris contributed with 40s to reach a target of 167 runs with 22 overs to spare.Randesh Bandaranaike who took four wickets was the pick of the bowlers.
