Variety is the spice of life, they say, but I would used the word NOVELTY (in place o0f variety), and that’s been in abundance since the Coronavirus pandemic cropped up.

This is quite evident where entertainment is concerned; obviously, with a lot of free time, on their hands, entertainers are doing everything they possibly could to get themselves, see and heard.

Online entertainment is number one, in this regard, and with most folks confined to their homes, the online (virtual) shows generally draw a big home audience.

The Old Girls’ Association of Visakha Vidyalaya (VVOGA) has stepped into this scene, and that makes their effort extra special.

The Old Girls are presenting a live streaming online musical show, called ‘2FORTY2 MAATHRA’. And, guess what! This novel musical happening will feature Visakhian talent.

That’s interesting, and I’m sure we are going to seem some future stars, as well, emerging from this particular event.

‘2FORTY2 MAATHRA’ will also feature the 2FORTY2 band, led by Billy Fernando, an old Peterite, along with a few renowned artistes, who are past Visakhians.

What you have to do now is to keep Saturday, March 6th, 2021, free. No, not the whole day but from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm

I’m told this particular event will be a novel and interactive experience to the audience, given the prevailing pandemic situation of the country.

The Old Girls’ Association expects a large gathering of Visakhians, their families and well-wishers to be a part of this mega musical happening…yes, an evening, filled with song, music and entertainment.

Past Visakhians, living overseas, will also have the the opportunity to take in the scene, from their part of the world.

The funds raised through this event will be utilized to finance the development projects of the school.

The event will be broadcast in an online private platform, in which only the people who have purchased the online ticket will get a unique URL to join this entertaining evening, using only one device.

Tickets can be purchased from lk.bookmyshow.com. priced at Rs. 1500.
