Villagers allege Vavuniya officials wasted 2,000 kilos of rice from TN

People have found 2,000 kilos of rice donated by Tamil Nadu hidden by some state officials.

They complained to Vavuniya District Secretariat on 02 Jan., that the stock of rice donated by Tamil Nadu in 2022 had not been distributed among the people.

They alleged that those living at Asikulam and several other villages hadn not received free rice.

Villagers said that those who had hidden the stock of rice should be punished.

They said the rice was not fit for human consumption as it was past shelf life.
