Victim kicked out of fast-moving train
Two arrested for killing railway security officer

A railway security guard was killed when two drunken passengers kicked and threw him out of a moving train on Saturday.The incident took place near Veyangoda Wandurawa railway station.The police said Shirley Lakshman Dissanayake, a 52-year-old father of two, from Oruthota Road, Gampaha, Upper Yagoda, had died after being thrown off a moving train.
Preliminary police investigations have revealed that two persons were consuming alcohol on the intercity train from Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai and when the railway security officers asked them not to do so, the drunken passengers set upon the security officials. One of them kicked the victim causing him to fall off the train while they were being taken to another compartment.
A group of officers of the Mirigama Police arrested the two suspects when the train reached the Mirigama police station.According to the police, one of the arrested passengers is a soldier.
