Immunoglobulin case:
The Court of Appeal yesterday (09) announced that the verdict on the interim requests in the writ petition filed against the remanding of the Director of the Health Ministry’s Medical Supplies Division Dr. Kapila Wickramanayaka would be made on 26 April.
The verdict was scheduled to be delivered by the Appeals Court Judge D. N. Samarakoon yesterday (09).
However, the judge announced the verdict would be given on April 26, when the case was taken up yesterday morning.
Dr. Wickramanayaka, remanded over his involvement in the procurement of fake Immunoglobulin, has moved the Court of Appeal, through his lawyers, seeking an order that the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court’s decision to remand him to be declared unlawful and grant him bail.
On 20 November, Director of the Health Ministry’s Medical Supplies Division, Dr. Kapila Wickramanayaka and three other officials, arrested over the high profile investigation, were ordered to be remanded in custody by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.
