VAT (Amendment) and Finance Bills certified

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena on Wednesday (13) certified the Appropriation Bill for the year 2024 soon after it was passed in Parliament.

Value Added Tax (Amendment) and Finance Bills passed in Parliament on Dec 11, too, were certified by the Speaker on the same day.

The said Bills will come to effect as the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act No. 32 of 2023, the Finance Act No. 33 of 2023 and the Appropriation Act No. 34 of 2023, the Parliament declared in a press release issued on Wednesday.
