Vaddukoddai search yields huge haul of Kerala cannabis

Naval troops yesterday (29) intercepted a three-wheeler carrying 104 kgs of Kerala cannabis. Navy headquarters said that troops have taken two persons into custody, along with the contraband.

According to Navy headquarters, the operation was conducted by SLNS Uththara and SLNS Agbo naval establishments coming under the Northwestern Naval Command. The stock of Kerala cannabis was in 50 parcels which had been put in three sacks.

The suspects, arrested during the operation, are residents of Madagal and Kilinochchi, aged 25 and 40. The suspects, along with the Kerala cannabis and the three-wheeler, had been handed over to the Vaddukoddai Police for further investigation and legal action, the Navy spokesman said.
