USDA Under Secy Taylor visits New Anthoney’s Farms and commends its pursuit towards sustainable poultry practices
Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Alexis Taylor, recently visited New Anthoney’s Farms at Hanwella. As one of the leading poultry producers in Sri Lanka, the visit underscores New Anthoney’s commitment towards sustainable practices and its growing ties with U.S.
This marks a significant moment for New Anthoney’s as they were able to showcase their state-of-the-art facility which embraces sustainably responsible processes in all aspects of its production. Under Secretary Taylor is on a visit to Sri Lanka to discuss and strengthen USDA’s support for the country’s agriculture sector.
The Under Secretary together with the management of New Anthoney’s also shared views and sentiments on how their partnership can contribute to enhancing food security in the country.
New Anthoney’s was the first company globally to embrace the ‘Fed with Sustainable U.S. Soy’ label by the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC), displaying a holistic commitment towards sourcing sustainable ingredients from the U.S, and many others followed suit thereon.
Since its inception, Anthoney’s have followed the scientific certified methods of the animal welfare criteria in its farming and production processes set forth by the National Chicken Council (NCC) in the U.S. It also recently obtained the internationally recognized FSSC 22000 certification.
