USD 50,000 bonus for ground staff

Asian Cricket Council and Sri Lanka Cricket awarded a bonus of US$ 50,000 for the ground staff at Pallekele and RPS for the remarkable work they did during the Asia Cup. The six nation tournament was marred by inclement weather and the ground staff toiled hard to ensure the tournament was continued without venues being shifted.

As a goodwill gesture, SLC and ACC announced a bonus of USD50,000 for the ground staff. Accordingly, SLC’s four curators, venue manager, permanent ground staff and temporary ground staff will receive the bonus.

SLC’s head groundsman Godfrey Dabare has decided to forgo his portion of the bonus and distribute it to his staff.
