‘Updated National Physical Planning Policy and the Plan 2048’ to be implemented

The Cabinet has given approval for the implementation of the “Updated National Physical Planning Policy and the Plan 2048″  presented by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing.

The updated “National Physical Planning Policy and the Plan 2048” has been prepared based on the proposals made by the President in his Throne Speech and Budget Speech, the Government’s policy framework and data updated by various agencies and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report 2021, with the advice of the Industrial Advisory Committee constituted under the provisions of the Town and Village Planning (Amendment) Act No. 49 of 2000 and input from all relevant parties. The plan has been approved by the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on National Physical Planning and the National Physical Planning Council.
