UNP musters forces to encircle govt
The UNP had decided to hold talks with a number of trade unions, professional associations and several mass organisations besides political parties to find solutions for the current crises in the country, said party General Secretary, Palitha Range Bandara.
Bandara said the decision had been made after a discussion held recently at Sirikotha between the UNP leaders including Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardena and a group including former Provincial Governor President’s Counsel Maithri Gunaratne, former Governor Keerthi Tennakoon, former Governor Azath Sally, Attorney-at-Law Shiral Lakthilaka and Attorney-at-Law Gunaratne Wanninayake.
Party Leader former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had called for discussions with trade unions and other organisations, Range Bandara said.
The talks would begin on the instructions of party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to mobilise all forces against the government.
