“CBSL Executive Grade officials have got only 24% salary increment per year”

SLPP parliamentarian S. B. Dissanayake told Parliament yesterday that misinformation was being disseminated about the recent salary revision at the Central Bank (CBSL).
Participating in an exchange of views after COPF Chairman Dr. Harsha de Silva presented the COPF report to the House on the CBSL salary issue, Dissanayake said that there were some facts that had been overlooked in the process. The CBSL employees got their salary
increment once in three years. This increment should be calculated over three years. As per that calculation, the Executive Grade had got only a 24 percent increment per year. The Executive Grade of the CBSL was made of the crème de la crème of the university products. Other CBSL employees had got only a 9 percent increment per year. “In universities, we have increased the salaries by 89 percent for professors and doctors,” Dissanayake said.
