Unbeaten Greys and Blues meet today

The ongoing SLC Invitational T20 League at Pallekele has seen some very exciting games and tonight the two unbeaten sides in the competition, SLC Greys and SLC Blues will meet under lights. Prior to that, SLC Reds and SLC Greens will be searching for their first win having lost both their games so far.

While Greens have been unlucky losing both their matches in the last over, Reds need to pull up their socks after some sloppy performances, especially their batting.

Greys captain Dasun Shanaka has been in superb nick with two match winning efforts.

Kamindu Mendis has got the attention of selectors as well after scoring back to back half-centuries but both games Greens have lost.

A whole bunch of players were sent home from the bubble for failing minimum fitness standards and Head Coach Mickey Arthur’s fitness regime seems to be showing result with players exhibiting improved energy levels on the fief and showing more commitment while running between the wickets converting twos into threes.

Meanwhile Dhananjaya de Silva, Chamika Karunaratne and Charith Asalanka, who missed the first couple of games are expected to feature in today’s games having joined the bubble over the weekend.

Authorities have said that selections for the home white ball series against South Africa and the T20 World Cup in UAE will be made on the performances of this series.

SLC was expected to play the Lanka Premier League around this time but that event has been now postponed to December.
