Unbeaten CR take on Air Force at rugby

Unbeaten CR & FC will come up against Air Force SC in a Division 1 Inter-club league rugby tournament fixture scheduled for Friday (December 15) at Longden Place. The kick-off is scheduled for 3.45pm.

The Red Shirts led this season by seasoned campaigner Suhiru Anthony have done pretty well to beat Army SC (55-8) and Police SC (19-6). The Police SC vs CR game played last week was well contested, but the Red Shirts prevailed in the end.

Air Force have played well in patches this season and did justice to their skills in rugby only at the last outing where they downed Navy SC 17-15 in a close encounter. The Airmen are led this season by hooker Parakrama Rathnayake.

On Saturday (December 16) the high-ridding CH & FC take on Navy SC at Welisara. The Gymkhana Club players are on a high now after beating fancied Havelocks SC 20-13 last week. On the same day Havies will scrum down against Army SC with the match scheduled to take place at Havelock Park. This match will be played under floodlights with the kick-off scheduled at 6.30 pm.

On Sunday (December 17) Kandy SC host Police SC at Nittawela.
