Ukraine crisis: Pot calling the kettle black
While condemning Russia’s invasion of an independent country, Ukraine, we cannot approve the past records of the countries in the forefront and calling for action against the invading country. We take the record of the US and the UK, whenever they invade a country the term they use is liberation; but when any other country does the same it is invasion.
We see in what condition these recently liberated countries are, now. Iraq, a country where terrorists feared to enter when Saddam Hussain was in power, is now infested with terror groups and there is hardly a day without a bomb blast and few deaths. Libya, was another highly prosperous country when Ghaddafi was in power, with not less than six poor African countries surviving purely on the generous aid they got from Libya. Now Libya itself is looking for help from others, without a government and daily clashes between various parties. Now the green country of the middle east Syria, which provides vegetables and fruits to almost all the neighbouring countries, is in real chaos. All these calamities in these countries are due to the liberation they faced by the liberators. Same liberation prank has been tried in the past in countries like Panama, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia etc. If you see how far away these countries are from the liberator, and how close Ukraine is to the invader, you will wonder what prompted Russia to take this action.
According to experts it is Ukraine’s desire to join NATO that angered neighbouring Russia. Anyway, we are glad to hear that talks are underway between the two parties for a settlement. We wish the talks will be successful and permanent peace will return to Ukraine.
