Two travel bans on retired President, PM Mahinda

Two travel bans have been imposed on retired President Mahinda Rajapaksa.One is by the Supreme Court in respect of the Fundamental Rights Violation petitions, filed complaining against the present economic crisis in the country.

The second is in respect of the Galle Face violence on 09 May 2022. It has been imposed by the Fort Magistrate.On 09 May, SLPP MPs Johnston Fernando, Sanath Nishantha, and some others, allegedly led an attack on the Galle Face protesters.
