Two semi-finals of Under 19 Division II Cricket tourney today

Two semi-finals of the Under 19 Division II cricket tournament will be played today

While P. de S. Kularatne College, Ambalangoda will meet President’s College, Kotte in the Division II Tier ‘B’ semi final at Army Gound, Dombagoda, Sri Devananda College Ambalangoda will encounter St. Sebastian’s College Katuneriya in the Division II Tier ‘A’ semi final at Artillery Regement Ground Panagoda.

P. De S. Kularathne College advanced to the quarter finals as group champion. They beat last year runners up Royal College Panadura in the quarter final. They are captained by Kaveesh Sathsara.

President’s reached the knockout stage as runners up in their group. Their quarter-final against St. Mary’s Kegalle ended in no result due to heavy rain in Kandy. However, they were promoted to the semi final according to average points brought forward from first round. They are captained by Chamod Wagarachchi.

Sri Devananda and St. Sebastian’s

The semi-final between Sri Devananda and St. Sebastian’s will be played at Artillery Regiment ground Panagoda.

St. Sebastian’s advanced to the quarter final as the runners up in their group, while Sri Devananda reached the quarter final as the third placed team in the group. When these teams encountered each other during the group stage the Sebs were the winners.

St. Sebastian’s are captained by Maleesha Deshan while Shehan Wickramasinghe leads Sri Devananda.
