Two Lt. Commanders held with ‘ICE’: SLN conducting probe

Navy headquarters is conducting a high-level probe into the arrest of two Lieutenant Commanders attached to the Coast Guard with narcotics following a raid on a house at Siriparakum Mawatha, Mulleriyawa.

An official said that statement would be made today (22) in this regard. Earlier the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court issued a detention order on the four persons, including the two Coast Guard officers arrested while in possession of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’).

They have been detained until 26 April pending further investigations.

On Friday (19), the officers of Mulleriyawa Police recovered 510 grams of ‘Ice’ from the possession of four individuals. The consignment was estimated to be worth Rs. 7.5 million.
