TU protests against President’s decision to defer transfers

A teacher union has protested against President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s order to rescind the Teacher Transfer Board of the Ministry of Education with immediate effect.

General Secretary of the Principals’ Grade Association Nimal Mudunkotuwa said that as a result, the transfers of around 12,500 teachers that were to be implemented based on the recommendations of the Teacher Transfer Board would be cancelled.
