Top 50 Professional and Career Women Awards for 10th year

Women in Management (WIM) will launch its ‘Top 50 Professional and Career Women Awards’ in or around November this year.
Founder / chairperson WIM Dr. Sulochana Segera introducing the awards programme said the awards ceremony this year would mark the 10th year these awards are made.
This year would also mark the sixth consecutive year these awards are made in association with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a sister organization of the World Bank, working in more than 100 countries.
WIM is dedicated to the success of women in management, Segera said.
The press conference was also addressed by Programme Manager for Women in Work, IFC, Sarah Twigg who said recognizing women in their chosen careers, created a legacy that inspired others. She said that IFC’s 50 year operation in Sri Lanka would continue to provide skills – building and opportunities for women while assisting women entrepreneurs in their selected fields of endeavour.
Shiromal Cooray, chairman and Managing Director, Jet Wing Travels, who would chair the panel of judges to select the 50 winners said the WIM competition was gaining recognition. She said women were as competent as men in their appointed functions.
The press conference was also addressed by Danielle Cohen representing the Australian government who is a partner in the WIM programme.
