Toll-free travel for ambulances on expressways

Chief Government Whip and Highways Minister Johnston Fernando yesterday said that all ambulanceswould be able to ply toll free on expressways with immediate effect.

A toll was levied on every ambulance using the expressways, but following the COVID-19 outbreak they were exempted from toll from May 20 until further notice. Yesterday it had been decided to make all expressways toll-free for ambulances, the Minister said.
