Tip off leads to catching smuggler with 60,640 PREGAB tablets

Acting on a tip off, the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) unit at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on Tuesday (18) found 60,640 PREGAB tablets (150 mg) taken by heroin addicts as an alternative.

A senior PNB official said that the passenger, a resident of Rajawella, Digana, who arrived here on a flight from India was detained for a period of seven days. The 40-year-old suspect had packed the tablets weighing 34 kilos in boxes declared as hair dye. (SF)
