Thusitha Peiris at the helm of Havelock Sports Club

Former Captain, Thusitha Peiris was elected as the President of the Havelock Sports Club for 2020/21 in their Annual General Meeting held recently at the Club House in Havelock Park.
He succeeded Romesh Abeywickrema who held office in the last two years. The AGM saw two candidates running for President, Tyronne Coonghe and Thushitha Peiris.
However, Peiris won the race with 146 votes as opposed to 96.
Peiris served as the secretary at Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) in 2019 as well as for Havelock Sports Club during that time.
Havelock Sports Club’s history dates back to 1915 with Roy Joachim founding the Colombo 5 club and since then there has been rich tradition built around its premise.
The Park Club has been showing immense potential and consistent performances throughout the last couple of Dialog Club Rugby seasons. The captain for the 2020/2021 season has not been named yet.
