Peterite Indoor Sports Carnival in Dubai

The 11th edition of Peterite Indoor Sports Carnival concluded on June 17 at Danube Indoor Sports Complex, Dubai with most of the Sri Lankan Schools Old Boys Associations in UAE participating in the tournament.

The final was held between the old Boys Team of the Thurstan College and Royal College. It was a closely contested game and Thurstanites led by Kalinga Perera, went on to win the game 5-0.

The stellar performance by the skipper, Kalinga Perera and Harsha Gunarathne made a huge difference during the game and the fellow team members contributed immensely to this well deserved victory. After actively participating in a number of tournaments, Thurstanites were able to emerge as Champions at this tournament.

The Thurstan team had a better game when they played in the semi-final. They beat St. Peter’s 15-10 to secure the final spot.

This marks an important juncture in the team’s progress as well as for the OBU wing of Thurstan in the UAE.
