Three remanded till 16 June for attacking police vehicle
Nuwara Eliya police have arrested three persons allegedly involved in an attack on a police vehicle in the Dayagama area.
Police headquarters said that the three, residents of Nagenahirawatte, Dayagama, were taken in following an investigation, with the help of sniffer dogs. The police alleged that the suspects caused damages to a police vehicle carrying five persons, arrested along with 34 litres of moonshine.
They were produced before the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate on 09 June and remanded till 16 June pending further investigations. The police told court that the suspects had made an attempt to rescue those in custody.
