Three parliamentary employees were arrested on Monday (29) for having allegedly molested a female staff member.

DIG Renuka Jayasundara oversaw a month long investigation into the allegation that a female staff member in Parliament had been sexually abused by co-workers.

The investigation revealed the three men had been involved in sexually abusing the female worker.

Police said that the three men thrown a cloth on the victim’s head and groped her in 2021. Parliament has already investigated the incident and handed over a report to the Attorney General (AG)

The AG then instructed the IGP to investigate the incident and arrest the suspects.
