Three killed, two injured as van collides with three motorcycles

Three persons were killed and two others seriously injured when a van and three motorcycles collided at Ranwala in Kegalle.Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that the victims had been identified as Mohammad Milhar, Mohammad Alfaz and Mohammad Safaras. They were residents of Thulhiriya.

SSP Thalduwa said that the van traveling towards Kandy from Colombo had collided head-on with the three motorcycles coming from the opposite side.He said five people had been traveling on the ill-fated motorcycles.

The injured are being treated at the Kegalle hospital.The van driver has been arrested.The Kegalle police are conducting further investigations.
