Thomians recommence First XI cricket under Shalin’s captaincy

S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia recommenced First XI cricket under the captaincy of Shalin de Mel with their traditional fixture against St John’s College, Jaffna at Mount Lavinia on Monday.

It is the first match played by the school after cricket was stalled due to the Covid 19 pandemic almost a year ago.

Electing to bat first, the Thomians posted 241 for seven wickets before bad light forced an early end to day’s play. Vinuja Wijebandara and Senesh Hettiarachchi  scored half centuries for the home team, while J. Ashnath picked up three wickets.

Sadishan scores century for Mahanama

Put to bat Sadishan Chamodya scored a century as Mahanama reached 219 for four wickets against St. Servatious in their Under-19 match at Dombagoda on Monday.
