The Sputtering Deliverer

By Lynn Ockersz
Those hard knocks from Lenin,
Are yet to sink in;
He said when the West went for a free-for-all,
Over who was foremost and first,
That rulers would forever be ruled by greed,
That grows like gangrene,
And that they could never be reined-in,
And Lenin’s words remain true!
Just the other day,
This Nodding Land’s powers-that-be,
Gave a mesmerized nod,
With no thought for the day ahead,
For new, shiny four-wheel toys for themselves,
To race on in their dangerous ego games,
But on the following fact,
A stunning blindness remains:
The Treasury is running out of pennies,
For the hand-to-mouth slaves,
And the sputtering Three-Wheeler,
Emerges a lonesome deliverer,
Of dangerously-shrinking small takes.
