The Chamber Academy conducts webinar on navigating towards a healthy mind for everyone at work

The working community is faced with various emotional challenges during this time where many are eager to get back to their usual work routine. Majority of businesses are now considering to open up their doors to welcome employees back. However, with much uncertainty employees may undergo a lack of mental and physical strength to navigate themselves in a volatile environment. 

As responsible businesses and HRMs, organisations must take the lead to ensure that wellbeing is given due priority in their policies and practices while actively addressing its importance.

The Chamber Academy of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has taken the initiative to share expertise thoughts on this topic. The webinar will cover areas such as transformation of pertinent emotional experiences during a pandemic, how body and mind react to a crisis with perspective to factual experiences, self-care strategies: navigating work/personal lives effectively, organizational strategies: ensuring physical and mental wellness of employees, resilience-building strategies and other practical coping strategies and information on resources available in the community.

The resource panel will include Dr. Venura Palihawadana (MBBS, MD-Psych), Consultant Psychiatrist, Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry, University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Mr.  Nivendra Uduman Counselling Psychologist and Ms. Bani Chandrasena Head of Inclusive Diversity, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Sri Lanka. The session will be moderated by Dr. Aseni Wickramatillake (MBBS, MPH), Adviser, Occupational Health, Hygiene and Ergonomics, Visiting Lecturer, University of Moratuwa and University of Vocational Technology, Ratmalana.
