Thai assistance to the tune of Rs 86 mn

Ven.Pairin Sirisawat, Chief Monk of Sangathan Temple, Ven. Prof Pochana Phayakphittayangkura and other donors from Sangathan Temple who had been to Sri Lanka several times since the launch of the assistance project receiving the Honorary Titles from Ven. Wellapitiya Sumanadhamma Thera, chief incumbent of Sunetradevi Raja Maha Viharaya in collaboration with the Presidential Secretariat.

Under the leadership of Chief Monk of Sangathan temple in Thailand, Ven. Pairin Sirisawat, the needy in Sri Lanka have received assistance to the tune of Rs 86 mn. The temple launched ‘Heart to Heart Aid relief programme to Sri Lanka‘ coordinated here by Manohara Silva with the leadership of the Directors of the Presidential Secretariat Sugeeshwara Bandara and Manoj Bandara. The donation programme launched in August 2022 provided relief to many, a spokesperson said with over 16 hospitals receiving essential medicine and equipment, over 45,000 families given rice, dhal, exercise books and other stationery for children, and food items for the under privileged in rural areas, elders homes and orphanages functioning through Buddhist temples and Catholic churches.
