Test discard Oshada hits hundred in the final
Top order batsman Oshada Fernando is all set to make a comeback for Sri Lanka’s tour of Bangladesh next month after he scored a hundred in the final of the National Super League representing Kandy against Jaffna in Galle yesterday.
It was Oshada’s fourth hundred in ten innings in the competition. He has amassed over 700 runs at an average of 80. Only captain Kamindu Mendis has scored more runs than him. The former Sri Lanka Under-19 captain has scored nearly 900 runs in 11 innings with four centuries and four 50s.
Mendis made 87 yesterday as he was involved in a 188 run partnership with Oshada.
Kandy were bowled out for 444 as Dilum Sudeera picked up four wickets. Captain Dhananjaya de Silva was handy with his off-spin accounting for three wickets.
In reply, Jaffna were 42 for one at stumps on day two.
