Tennis National Championships 2021 – Anjalika, Yasitha national tennis champions

Anjalika Kurera regained the women’s singles title of the Tennis Nationals at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts on Monday.

The Ave Maria Convent, Negombo player who returned to competition after a lapse of one year this season and has been in terrific form. She scored a 6-3, 6-2 win over Janali Manamperi who was playing in her third consecutive women’s singles final.

Kurera was also the winner of the women’s singles at the recently played Colombo Championships.

In the men’s singles final, young Chathurya Nilaweera scared the defending champion Yasitha de Silva winning the first set 7-6, before the latter fought back to clinch a 2-1 win. De Silva scored 6-4, 6-4 wins in the second and third sets.
