Ten undergrads suspended for mob attack on ex-Vice Chancellor of Peradeniya Uni and his son

Ten students, suspected to be involved in Sunday’s mob attack on a former Peradeniya University Vice Chancellor, and his son at their residence had been suspended, Acting Vice Chancellor, Terrance Madujith said yesterday.
The suspects involved in the attack had been identified with the help of CCTV footage, and statements made by the security personnel.
The attack took place following an argument the professor’s son had with some youth over an incident involving the latter’s motorcycles.
Later, a large number of students surrounded the Professor’s house and around 10 persons, alleged to be university students, assaulted the Professor and his son, after breaking into his house.
