Ten SJB MPs down with COVID

Ten SJB MPs and 10 staff members of the Opposition Leader, Sajith Premadasa’s Parliament office have tested positive for COVID-19.

 After Premadasa had tested positive for COVID-19, PCR tests were conducted on SJB MPs and staff members of two of his offices. So far 20 of his associates have tested positive for SARS-COV-2. 

Serjeant-at-Arms of the Parliament, Narendra Fernando has informed all associates of Premadasa’s Parliament office staff to undergo self-quarantine. 

On May 20, SJB MP Mujibur Rahman tested positive for COVID-19. On May 23 it was confirmed that Premadasa and his wife had also contracted the disease.

A few days before tested positive for Covid-19, the SJB MPs held a demonstration against the Port City Economic Commission Bill near Parliament.
