Teachers to get jab next Monday 

The government would start administering COVID-19 vaccines to teachers from Monday (12), Education Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris said.

The decision has been taken following a discussion with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa last week. It was agreed that all teachers could be vaccinated within a week.

Teachers, principals and all non-academic staff would be  vaccinated, the Minister said.

Provincial Governors, Chief Secretaries, Provincial Education Directors and the Health officials would co-operate to make the endeavour a success, Prof. Peiris said.  (RK)
