Tea production up in spite of chemical fertiliser shortage – Pathirana

Minister Ramesh Pathirana discussed the challenges faced by the plantation sector at a recent meeting of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Plantations. The focus of the discussion was on the industry struggling to cope up with current challenges, particularly the disruption of chemical fertilisers.

Minister Pathirana said that in spite of shortage of chemical fertilisers, the country had been able to increase the overall production of tea.
