Taxila win Under 19 Division II Tier ‘B’ cricket title

A strong bowling performance led by Sanvidu Sevin and half-centuries by Sandith Ranaweera and Janith Dananjaya helped Taxila College, Horana clinch the title of the Under 19 Division II Tier ‘B’ cricket tournament at Campbell Place on Friday.

They beat Sri Jayawardenapura MV on first innings points to win the two-day tournament title.

In reply to 138 runs made by Sri Jayawardenapura MV, Taxila posted 341 runs as half-centuries by Ranaweera and Dananjaya and useful contributions by late-order batsmen helped them take vital first innings points.In their second essay, Sri Jayawardenapura MV were 46 for four wickets at the close.
